Awe Inspiring

May's picture

I finally figured out that a bunch of my friends from school have blogs, so I started reading a few of them. Wow. I've totally forgotten how much energy I get from being around friends. I've got Ali and Patrick, so I'm still pretty good, but its so nice to have tons of people around that you know and have a history with. Which is why this blogging thing is so great for life after college...you can get a touch of how it used to feel to be around everyone and their thoughts. What I'm trying to say is this: I love you all.

I'm so inspired to be a better person right now...read a new book, play some piano, see an indie film. I've been letting work bog me down and take away my inspiration for life. No more. No more.

Living is Fabulous. Thank goodness I finally woke up to that. (like my euphemism? I'm trying to change all the phrases that I use so constantly I'm sicking myself up. Apparently I also use "stupidest" a whole hell of a lot, which is grammatically incorrect. Ironic isn't it?)

I'm going climbing tonight with a bunch of people that I met at the rock gym, which is always fun. I love looking at my torqued, ripped hands after a night of climbing and feeling hard-core. And maybe I'll meet that Lewis and Clark law student again tonight and pick his brain over coffee/beer.

Oh, btw, Adam, the funny pages haven't worked for me in a week or so...I keep getting "server does not exist" like error pages.

Funny pages problem

Most likely, the reason you can't view the funny pages website is because you are using IE. I think it times out sooner than Firefox does, becuase Firefox works just fine for me.

The reason it is timing out is partly because of the new comics that I added a bit ago, as with each new comic I add it takes slightly longer to load the page. Thus, I think IE times out before it can complete the page load. It also loads slower at high volume times for the comic sites, such as breakfast time.

As a temporary fix, I will set up a second comic site within the next day or two that shouldn't have the loading problem. Just for you May. In the long run I have a more elegant solution that will drastically speed up page load times, but I haven't had the time to code that. Maybe this weekend?

But I'm glad to hear that this blog has been a part of making you happier. I enjoy it a lot myself because it is now infinitly easier to keep in touch with everybody. The downside is that because I don't use spell check, and I rarely proofread my posts, all of my spelling deficiencies are strung out for everybody to see.

Am I the only one who feels like they could spell better four years ago than now? Wait, four years ago for me was at Willamette, so that makes sense for me...

So...

Willamette made you into a worse speller is what you are telling us. That makes sense. Willamette is after all a crappy school compared to the prestigious OSU you attended to afterwards. But by that point, your brain had already been damaged.

Do I hear...

Customizable comic page where I pick what loads?

Your friend when you need one.

Close

That is phase II. Phase I is just getting the page to load faster by keeping local copies of the comics, while not violating copywrite laws.
