School Done and DS Lite

I finished my class last week. I was so happy because I had put so much time into that class for a class that should have been so freaking easy. I guess it was one of those "weed-out" type of classes. The frustrating thing was the actual material was so easy (I mean business is for the most part very logical and common sense most of the time)... but the project we worked on was the major portion of our grade and that's where frustration set in.

The teacher was unclear about what she wanted and there was constant clarification with her through email or meetings. And it didn't help that she graded very harshly for stupid things. Considering our assignments themselves were each 8-10 pages... and the Phase 1 & 2 projects were 30 pages each... so stupid small mistakes were bound to happen when we'd have these assignments each week and then followed by the Phase 1 & 2 projects halfway and at the end of the term. She'd take points off for a simple spelling mistake (mis-use of a word) or stuff like that... so no matter how good the actual material was... we'd get a 6/10 on an assignment for 4 simple stupid mistakes. Frustrating. Plus she would ask for something, and then pretend you know all of the content in the hundred of documents she has on her site to understand the specifics of what she was asking for. You never knew when she was asking for something general or specific.

I've never disliked but at the same time like a teacher. She's a very nice lady. She tries really hard to be there for any questions. She usually was always willing to answer any email and meet with us. She kept the class interesting enough to stay awake (it's a 4 hour class and I never once felt like I was going to fall asleep). But her real lack of being clear made the class so damn frustrating. Plus, to get an A in the class, I had to put more work into this class than I have in any class previously. Either way, it's done, my team kicked ass, and I managed to pull an A... so I'm happy.

I also ended up getting a State Farm check for $130... and it just SCREAMED "DS Lite" to me. Grayce had gotten one a couple weeks earlier, May's conversation about it, the conversations about it on some of the message boards I read, just all told me to buy one. Being the weak-willed gamer that I am, I bought one with Big Brain Academy and the New Super Mario Bros. Both are great games and offer interesting things. When compared to my younger brother's PSP... I definitely say the DS seems to have more interesting gameplay opportunities... and looks to have a better game library. I kind of wish they had a Smash Bros version for the DS. They do have a new Zelda game (already out in Japan) coming that's in the same style as Windwaker. Overall, very cool little device.

May, you should get one and join the cult with Grayce and I. :)
