New Sehti Game!

Patrick's picture

So with the VSE game ending on Friday (we'll have an official announcement of winners and losers - ME... on Friday), I've been looking at a new game. I learned some things in the last game (actually quite a bit)... and I hopefully won't make the massive mistakes I did this time around.

Our new game is actually going to be on a different system. Investopedia's Simulator is what I plan to do this time as it takes into account dividends, stock splits, and a little more configurable than the VSE game. It's on a 20 minute delay (just like the last system), everyone who joins starts with $250000, and it will be a 6-month game (start May 29, next Tuesday).

I encourage those who didn't join last time, to join in on the game this time! It's a lot of fun! It teaches you quite a bit about stocks.

Click here to join the new game.

I personally don't know how we'd do a prize... but I think it would be fun to have some kind of small prize at the end. Any ideas, considering we are all over the place?

Think I'll try it

Starts the 29th, eh?

...

Yep - I tried buying and it chided me that "your game has not started yet!"

On board this time

Though I'll be pretty slow until Mid-June.

Password?

I tried logging in and it stated I needed a password to enter the game... Or is this some sort of nefarious plot to win by locking everyone else out ;-p

As per the prize... I'm not sure there needs to be one... bragging rights would seem to do... At least for my 2¢.

The password is

The password is "patrickwilllose". But it should be built into the address I have listed above. In any case, let me know if you have any issues getting in.

Ah...

I have to login first and that seems to confuse it.

Thanks!

Does anyone find the simulator site slow? It'll freeze my IE window occasionally, so I'm not a big fan of it. I also can't seem to find the mutual funds that I wanted to buy. What about the rest of you?

not me

I don't use IE, but I haven't found the site slow. I do think the user interface is horrible though. And it annoys me that it only updates the rankings page once a day.

When looking for mutual funds, one thing you can do is try appending a ".x" on the end of the symbol you want. That's worked for me on other sites.
