Kurt Vonnegut, I can't go on without you.

I was going to be his third wife, if the second one approved.

He gave me my life's meaning, which was meaningless.

And he was one of my favorite authors.

Yeah I loved seeing any

Yeah I loved seeing any interviews with him. He just has such a great deadpan sense of humor. Sadly, I've never read any of his books. :(

I've read many articles from him, I've seen interviews with the man, and overall he just seems like one of the few people who commands respect from a big audience by telling things in a very straightforward manner. His thoughts on the state of our world, the current political system and administration in this country... is worth reading.

Someday, I will actually read his books as I know that they are among the best books written in the 20th century. It's always very sad when someone like him dies. Once Chomsky is gone, we will have lost some of the greatest human commentators of our time.

I know this is bad, but...

I read all over the news about Kurt's death, and how important he was. But for the life of me, I had no idea who he was, and wasn't sure I had ever heard of him before.

...

It's not bad. I don't blame you for not knowing who he was - we never read him in school. But if you've got the time (I know, hah!), try one of these books.

Slaughterhouse 5 (famous novel about his WW2 Dresden firebombing experience)
Player Piano (corporate stooges final stand - I found it similar to Farenheit 51)
