Sehti's new look

Grayce's picture

I wanted to let Adam know that I like the new theme for Sehti.com :)

Thanks!

I'm glad you like it. The colors of the old theme were grating on me...

I agree

Not only are the colors better... but the comments are improved 100%. It's MUCH easier to parse the comments when they have boxes around each comment. :)

yeah

I liked that too. The reason I didn't go with this theme originally was because the actual blog posts don't have boxes around them. That bugs me.

...

I like it too. I wish the comics page wasn't being held hostage though. It seems like only half of them still work now.

And I wish foxtrot was still doing dailys instead of Sundays only.

Maybe when Adam get's some more free time...hah!

Far less white space = Very Good!

Ditto what everyone has already said, and add that I like the subtle color changes, makes it much easier on the eyes. Good choice!

*Adam, you might want to check things out a little, it seems like all the blog posts are being posted on the first page, which if I remember correctly, you didn't like in the last one and changed so your 'If you are trying to reach SETI.org' note was at the top.

Thanks for the heads up

I changed that recently, so that all new blog posts will go to the front page as well as the blog page. Keenly observant of you to notice that... I didn't think anyone ever looked at the homepage anymore. After thinking about it, it is a huge waste of real estate to have the homepage of sehti sit in static-boringness forever. My hope is that someday I will be able to render the "/blog" section redundant with the homepage, since the entire purpose of this website is the blog.

Originally when I made this site I thought there was the possibility of having the community here have more than just a blog, which would make having a general homepage more useful to organize the content into sections. But that never materialized, and it is easy enough to "take back" the front page if I ever need it in the future.
