Maybe Law School Isn't for you when...

You think that dawn occurs at night.... (as in dusk).
Seriously, there is this girl in the LSAT prep class that I'm taking that makes me think that if nothing else this class should be a cheap (realtively - $1,300 versus $150,000) hint that maybe Law School isn't for you.
And then there are the Bush-o-philes...
They even speak like him... there was a question dealing with patenting genetically engineered mice and one answer choice dealt with breeding... well the Bush-o-phile asked about 'what if they were breeded' seemingly without understanding there was anything wrong with the word....
Oh well... ;p

DC or Oregon
Figure Georgtown is my 1 reach but around here maybe American or George Washington or George Mason.
If I decide to go back to Oregon then the U of O or Lewis and Clark.
I haven't really looked outside of those two areas. Not sure I want to travel someplace for Law Schoo :p

Georgetown...
Georgetown is snobby. I visited there when I was considering undergraduate universities, but the whole culture there turned me off.

Yes but...
For some unknown reason a JD's value depends on the school its from. So if I can get in GULC (Georgetown Law Center) it is. However that would realistically require an LSAT score of 170+ which I might get, but I'll more likely be in the mid 160's so I'm thinking that unless a decent local Law School offers a great package I'm going to go back to Oregon and then its a decision between U of O and L & C.
Besides... You don't have to like people you go to school with and it would make it all the more fun to beat out the 20% that will flunk out (Law Schools use a true curve so even if everyone does 'A' work a set percentage of the class is going to flunk out).

2nd best I think
According to the most recent USNWR rankings I think U of O is 75th, L & C is 77th ;p
Yeah, I'm just being obnoxius... Its too close to make any real distinction there... I might hit you up later, but right now I don't have time :(

Actually... Eugene isn't
Actually... Eugene isn't that bad. It's a bit hippy and it's not that small. It's nowhere near the craphole that Corvallis is. And U of O might be cheaper... so I would say... U of O might be the better choice.

I'd be leaning toward the U of O...
If for no other reason than student tickets for Duck Football games! (And I could actually say I'm Duck, not just a life-long Duck fan ;p )
And bewteen the two, Eugene fits me much better than Portland
1. Eugene 1 hr from family, Portland 3
2. Eugene some traffic - Portland well not as bad as DC but more than I like
3. Eugene a couple of tall buildings - Portland too much cement
4. Eugene < $ than Portland for housing and utilities
5. Eugene less stressfull than Portland
6. Smith Family Bookstore > Powells (I know its sacraligious to say that but Smith Family is what I was raised on)
7. Eugene = easy access to south coast, Portland = access to overcrowded toursit traps and casinos
8. Eugene = Ducks, end arguement.
The only way I would really choose L&C over the U of O is if Lewis and Clark offered me lots more $ or if it just felt right (which is why I chose WU over U of Oregon for undergrad).
But my first choice would be to stay in DC... I still have too many to dos.
well
I'm glad to hear that you are looking into the law school route. Have fun with the LSAT class.
Any ideas about what law schools you want to apply to?
