'tard.

May's picture

I just met the cutest guy at work. I'm trying to recruit him to join my co-ed soccer team, but I really hope I didn't give off the "oh god you're the cutest thing I've seen in a while and I'm horny so please like me" vibe. Because I sure was thinking that.

ARRRGHGGHGHGHGHGHGHG I'm such a 'tard. I think he was just being friendly b/c he doesn't know that many people here yet, but I want there to be more!!!

It's hard not to want to have the world figured out at 24. I think J might be the one, I think J is definitely not the one. I want to date, I don't want to date. I want a cat, I want a dog, I don't want anything! Dammit, I was going to go a year w/o men!!! A year! Not 1.25 months, a YEAR!

Also, there is ferret piss on my jeans.

Thanks for letting me vent :)

Actually, that was a funny story. I met this girl going home on the corporate jet whose luggage was moving (definitely not condoned by the man). So we start talking. Turns out she's a big animal lover and after the plane she gives me a ride to work and lets her new ferret out of it's carrier. Which it had peed in. So it's all wandering around the car while we're chatting, and the next thing I know it's on my lap.

Kinda cute, in a stinky rodent way. I was cool with it, but I did rush home to do the laundry after.

Well....

Ferret piss aside... I don't think you are a 'tard. Good for you, going after the guy... even if it amounts to nothing. I've recently tried putting myself into situations where I don't know anyone in attempts to start meeting new people... and it sounds like you are doing the same thing. If nothing else, you might make a new friend.

Reminds me... I went out to lunch with a bunch of people I didn't know today (it was some kind of RCG/Intern lunch that sounded like fun) and I met all sorts of cool people. Even a few cute girls (who are unfortunately just interning for summer). Also, got talked into joining the Oregon Hiking Club for Intel... so Wednesday I'm going to go do that. :)

And I think I'm going to go mini-golfing with some of the same people I met at lunch today... tonight. I guess putting yourself out there really does help. :)

Oh and hey... I want to do some kind of soccer thing... but I really really suck... so do you have recommendations for that here in Portland. Some type of co-ed... not real competitve soccer thing around here that I could do?

There's a good group of people that plays at Abernathy Middle School on Saturday mornings - I played with them for half a year and it was mostly nice and friendly. Try looking at craigslist activity partners for posts - there's tons of pickup games around, especially on the weekends.

we're all retarded

Hey, you've done some really good things for yourself this last year, and made some big changes. I think you should be proud of everything you have accomplished, and not focus so much on what you haven't yet. Don't worry, you'll work it all out.
