Join the Army? WTF?

May's picture

I was thinking about how tired I am of thinking all the time, when the thought "join the army!" flashed through my head.

The scary thing is, in the middle of drafting up my MSR (monthly status report, aka "what did I do all last month? uh oh...") it actually sounded like a justifiable idea.

hmm...

May, you must have had a really bad week if you think that a) being shipped to Iraq, or b) guarding the mexican border is better than filling out your TPS reports :)

I know paperwork sucks, but it can't be that bad.

Noooooooo!

One word should be enough to win the argument: Bush. There's no way you should subject yourself to his whim. In ordinary circumstances, I think the army can be a very useful and practical choice for certain people, but with an ongoing open-ended war that is being poorly run it's just asking to die.

I understand how tired you get of your brain. I wish I could shut mine up sometimes, but getting it blown out isn't the answer. That's why I write stories, so I can put the continuous thought process toward something creative that doesn't involve dwelling on my own life or overanalyzing more than I already do.
