Single again
This time for a while. I think we both just hit a point where the question becomes "could I marry this person?" And my feeling is that this is not a question that time answers, though he feels it is.
I need some time alone, some time spent figuring out what I want, not what "we" want, some time figuring out how to live the way I want to. I think it will be good for me.
But god it was hard to walk away.

Don't really have advice... as I'm sure it would be useless coming from me anyway. I think spending the time to figure out what you want is a good thing and as hard as it is... you are probably doing the best thing for yourself. I'm sorry to hear that you had to do this though. Go do something fun this weekend... like a trip to the Redwoods or something. :)

Bummer little dudette. Breaks ups are never fun. Sounds like you've given it a lot of thought though and I think your reasons are very smart. It's better to figure all this out now than to put it off until you're 40 and end up buying a motorcycle or something to compensate for mis-directing your life!

I know how hard these kind of things can be, but I'm sure everything will work out for the best in the end. Taking time for yourself to get your life in order is a smart thing to do.
